Deck & Patio for your Havana property
The wraparound porches on Havana's century homes and the cafe patios tucked behind the converted tobacco warehouses stay green and slick under the tree line, holding morning dew long after the street dries. We wash the boards with a gentle low-pressure pass so the algae clears without roughing aged pine, then work the corners where mildew always shows up first.
Havana, FL at a glance
Havana, a small town north of Tallahassee near the Georgia line, has reinvented its old tobacco-warehouse downtown into a walkable district of antique shops and cafes. Its historic brick buildings and shaded homes collect mildew and algae in the humid climate, especially on north-facing walls and metal awnings. Soft-washing keeps storefronts and homes looking their best without harming older surfaces.
Havana's antique shops and cafes plug into the regional business network of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
Visitors touring the old tobacco-warehouse district often pair it with a stop at the nearby Tallahassee Museum.
How we get deck & patio right
A wood deck or paver patio under Tallahassee's tree cover lives in near-constant shade and moisture, which is exactly what algae, moss, and mildew want. Add the tannins that drip from live oaks and the thick spring pollen, and boards turn slick, gray, and slippery underfoot. We tailor our approach to the material: soft washing and gentle pressure for wood so we clean the surface without gouging the grain or raising splinters, and firmer cleaning for concrete and stone patios. Screened areas off the back of homes in Betton Hills or SouthWood collect a fine organic film that dulls everything evenly, and we lift it. We work the spaces between deck boards and paver joints where growth takes hold first. What you get back is a surface that is safe to walk barefoot again and ready for the long stretch of warm evenings North Florida gives you.
Every Havana job starts with an upfront, flat quote and finishes with workmanship you can count on.
